Still catching up on my fall work, here are some pics from Jennifer and Jessie’s wedding. Having shot her sister Patti’s wedding the previous winter, Jen offered the challenge of wanting a unique look for her wedding photos. I decided to lean more than usual toward the photojournalistic side of shooting, and went for a fairly stylized look in processing the photos.
One aspect I particularly enjoyed was being able to spend a lot of time at locations that were meaningful to the couple: Jen’s parents’ house, the couple’s new apartment, and Bergmann’s restaurant where Jen has worked for a number of years. And while I aimed for “different”, one of my favorite photos from Patti & Graham’s wedding was the shot of the snow falling, so I couldn’t help but try to recreate that shot in a seasonally appropriate setting.
Once again, it was great working with Jen’s family and thanks go out for their patience in waiting for the pictures!

Here is the culmination of the portrait series I shot of Crystal, documenting the pregnancy and birth of her new son Andrew. Crystal and her family were amazingly patient with all the shoots through the months and were just great to work with. It turned into a real labour of love for both of us, and I think the end-product – an album that captures the story of little Andrew’s arrival into the world – turned out wonderfully.
Ben and Deb’s family has been all about boys. That is, until now – with little Jada joining the clan. It was great to see how easily she meshed with her adoptive family despite not having a full handle on the English language just yet. It’ll be interesting to see how a baby sister influences the pack of boys. For the moment, anyways, Adam, Noah, and Justin were carrying on as usual.
A few pics from the shoot, during which I decided to play around with the background colour:

Still catching up on some of my fall work, here is a portrait session I shot of little Sylvie and her parents Sarah and Jon. I’m more accustomed to seeing Jon and Sarah on a frisbee field in cleats and shorts, so it was a little different hanging out with them in their civvies. A fun session down at the riverbanks of the Red by their house, with Sylvie in constant motion through the tall grasses and play structures, and their dog Bella getting right up and personal with the river.
