It was a fabulous day shooting with Liza and Darwin – it’s hard not to enjoy working with people who are just so warm hearted. It also didn’t hurt that I got to shoot at the Graffiti Gallery and the Millennium Library, two places that I don’t get to very often. With Liza being a graphic designer by trade, I knew all the details were going to be top notch and I wasn’t disappointed – the great colour harmony, the matching parasols, the designer chocolates, and the super cool cake standing out for me. It was a beautiful day with two genuinely beautiful people. A handful of faves:

This was the second time this summer, third time in all, that I had the privilege of working with the Chenier family as Dwayne married the beautiful Amanda. I always appreciate how much this group of people make me feel like I’m part of the family. This wedding was just full of little details and moments that stood out – the hilarious hunting down of champagne glasses for the bridesmaids; the groomsman’s bag of beef jerky that was such a huge hit with everyone; little Jackson adding his own little moments to his parents’ wedding; the light rain shower that capped off the ceremony; shooting the formals amidst the many patrons and cool backdrops of the Earls restaurant; the fantastic decor and momentous entrance of the couple to the reception. Between the expressions and the settings, it was a treat of a day to shoot. Here are some of my faves:

Another wonderful East Indian wedding bursting with colour, expressions, and emotions. On this gloriously hot and sunny summer day, Anupa and Vishal were splendid in all their attire, their easy smiles never far from their faces as they were happily in the thick of all the celebrations. A few of my faves from the day:

Wow: 5 days of events + 2 separate ceremonies + 600 guests + 2 lovely families + 1 beautiful couple + over 2,000 photos = Reena & Satnam’s wedding. It was a thrilling and wonderful week of shooting, with each day bringing something new and exciting. Congratulations Reena and Satnam and thanks for letting me be part of your amazing celebration! A small handful of pictures hardly does justice to all the colours, expressions, emotions, and wonder of the 5 days, but here’s a quick sneak peek – I think the rest of the pictures will be worth the wait.

My first reaction to seeing all the fabulous Oriental decor at Dale and Stephanie’s wedding was one of appreciation – they did a fabulous job of decorating their home and wedding in an Asian theme. My second reaction was one of irony, as here I was shooting the wedding of two Caucasians who were way more Asian than I am!
This happened to be the second Petsche family wedding I had the pleasure of shooting: I actually first met met Dale and Stephanie when they were in the bridal party of her brother’s wedding (Stephen & Noella). Fast forward a few years and now we have Stephanie and Dale up front at the altar, and Noella and Stephen in the entourage with their three beautiful junior bridesmaid daughters (wow have they grown!) It was great to see the families again who were as warm and welcoming as ever, and I look forward to a few weeks from now when I get to work with the families again!
A sneak peek into the day:
